In the last week I have been nominated by 2 fellow bloggers for 2 awards. As a new blogger I was unsure what awards were or what I was supposed to do with them. I needed to look at the guidelines (as it were) and to give a little thought to my response. I also needed in truth to get back on my desktop so I could see what I was doing!  . . after a few weeks navigating around the web on my ipad: not ideal when your eyes arn’t quite what they used to be.

I would firstly like to thank Sharifah

for my versatile blogger award

and mj

for my liebster award

I consider my awards a priviledge and a kindness from ‘virtual strangers’ with whom I share a common love of words.

I have discovered many kindnesses on wordpress since my blogging journey began. I am grateful every day.

Those I know only through their words and pictures have shared their time with me. You have passed by and shown me the kindness of reading my words. You have expressed a kindness in ‘liking’ and sometimes shared a kindness in a thought or two.

If simply put – human kindness is ‘taking the time’, then I am thankful too to be here, to be a part of something and to discover new ways of doing just that.

When I arrived at wordpress months ago I did not know what direction my blog would take or where I would be drawn. I realise now I am drawn to words and pictures and sometimes a glorious and uplifting combination of both.

Having said that here are a list of blogs who like and are all worthy of my time and yours

I am aware that I am supposed to nominate fellow bloggers, but as there are 2 awards I am acknowledging here, how about my listed blogs take their pick !! ( I hope I wont be black balled for suggesting that but I want to do this post before 2013 chimes and I believe blogging has to be a pleasure and not ever felt as pressure.)

I would like to complete my acceptance by repsonding appropraitley to the qustions posed by each award.

Firstly – versatile award and 7 things about me.

My favourite colour is green, I am a Mum, sister and friend first, I love fish and chips, I want to visit the Arctic circle and bathe in it’s wonders, I have learned the peace that comes from BEing and not striving, into motown and relish feasting my eyes of beautiful things.

Secondly – liebster.

1. Would you rather live on a beach or a desert?
A beach but I love the desert too: it is so peaceful.
2. Do you write at some fixed time during the day or whenever you can?
Whenever I feel inspired.
3. What do you think is the key to a better world for our children?
Free education for all.
4. If you were given a choice of being part of a new world on a new planet would you accept and why?
I have no interest in other planets. I like the worlds of the living and the here and now. I would much prefer to go back in time.
5. What kind of writing do you enjoy reading?
Anything that speaks to me.
6. Do you remember the dreams you dream during the night? Do you document them?
I dont want to remember them. I feel I am only on the edge of sleep when I dream so feet on the ground for me 🙂
7. Describe yourself in one or two sentences.
I feel with the heart and move forward with my head’s nod of approval.
8. When I say ‘India’ what is the first image that comes to your mind?
An incredible vibrant, wild , mad colourful country I want to visit again.

And today I add 2 more awards so kindly offered

Thank you  J E

and thank you too

. . what a lovely way to end the year 🙂
